Who doesn’t need a red framed chalkboard? I can’t believe how great this turned out. This was sitting broken in a box labeled free at a garage sale. I didn’t know what I was going to do with it, but I knew I would love it!

Here it is before. I hated the fat chef pictures.

Free Menu Board

Remember this $5 frame I got a few weeks ago. Well I finally painted it and put a new picture in it.

Garage Sale Frame

What do you think? I had a beach photo enlarged at Wal-Mart. IMG_4432

The two smaller pictures are from home goods. Ignore the ugly couch, as soon as I hit the lotto it’s gone.

I haven’t started my curtains yet but I hope to do them today.

Cheap Fabric!!!!!

Tablecloth Curtains

I am going to be busy the next couple of days making curtains with my super cheap fabric.  Where did I get this cheap fabric you ask?  Well TJ Maxx in the Tablecloth section.  It’s a vibrant floral pattern 60 x 126 oblong tablecloth.  I plan on lining it with a $4 Wal-Mart flat sheet.

I have seen all the no sew curtains, but I am too cheap to buy the seam tape.  I don’t own a sewing machine, in fact I have never even sewed a button.  I know that’s sad and shocking.  I got this cute $15 sewing machine.  All my windows need curtains, so it’s a good investment.

I am definitely making panels but I am torn on if I should make a valance too.  I hate frou frou things.  Plus these curtains our going in our craft room/laundry room.  This room has green walls, white cabinets, brown countertops and oak laminate floors.

Fall Wreath

This looks so great on our black front door.  I have been seeing rag wreaths all over the internet.  I wanted a fall wreath but was bored with all the leaves and pumpkins.  This is my first wreath.  The hardest part was cutting the strips.  I cut them 2 in. x 8 in. long using three different fabrics.  I may bend the hanger loop down so its not so obvious.

Ugly Blonde Nightstand to Sweet Moss Green

I gave up on trying to paint anything blue.  It never matches my home and I always end up repainting.  But for some reason all shades of green love me.  Green doesn’t have that coastal feel that blue does but it just seems to always work well for me.  I have tried blue walls, blue shutters, and a blue door.  The blue has all been repainted to tapestry beige on the walls and black on the shutters and door.

This Thomasville nightstand was a plain boring blonde color.  I wanted to paint it blue but I didn’t bother.  I had some bright green paint and mixed it 1:1 with some leftover black.  It gave me this great moss green color.  It also used to be in our master bedroom but now it’s in the living room as an end table.

Green Nightstand  Did you notice the floors?  I never got around to posting about them.  My husband finished them in June.  They are gorgeous, so much better than carpet.

Mason Jar Candles The knobs are from Hobby Lobby, which beside Home Goods is my favorite store.  I got the mason jars from Habitat.  The candles are soy vanilla.  We are asthmatics so no more paraffin candles around here.

I finished my bedroom but couldn’t take any pictures before it got taken over by baskets of laundry to fold.  Uggh!  If am hoping to share it this weekend.

I am so tired today so I will let the pictures speak for themselves.  I am almost finished with my Master Bedroom furniture makeover.  This has been a hefty project.  I hope to post it by Sunday.

This made for an exciting home school day around here.  The boys love the new path.  It will become off limits once it’s open to the other neighborhood.

Thanks for stopping by.
